KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Experience:

    • 3-5++ years of experience as a Technical Artist in Unreal Engine

    • Experience with Unreal Engine’s Material Editor, Blueprints, and advanced features such as ray tracing, Lumen, and Nanite.

    • A strong portfolio showcasing work in Unreal Engine, including examples of shaders, VFX, or optimized art assets, PBR Materials and Blueprint


  • Technical Skills:

    • Proficiency in Unreal Engine, including content creation workflows, optimization, and debugging.

    • Strong understanding of materials, shaders, and lighting in Unreal Engine.

    • Familiarity with performance optimization techniques, including LOD (Level of Detail), asset streaming, and GPU profiling.

    • Experience with scripting tools (e.g., Python, Unreal Engine Blueprints, or C++).

    • Solid understanding of 3D modeling, rigging, and animation pipelines.


  • Artistic Skills:

    • Strong knowledge of art production, including texture mapping, UV layouts, and asset creation.

    • Experience in creating visually striking materials and shaders that are optimized for real-time rendering.

    • Ability to troubleshoot and solve complex technical issues while maintaining high artistic standards.

  • Key Responsibilities:

    • Pipeline Development and Optimization:

      • Develop and maintain efficient art pipelines for content creation within Unreal Engine.

      • Implement tools, scripts, and workflows to streamline art production processes.

      • Optimize assets for performance, ensuring smooth integration into the Unreal Engine environment.

      • Work with cross-functional teams to identify bottlenecks and improve efficiency.

      • Version Control workflow: GIT, Perforce,…

    • Asset Creation and Integration:

      • Assist artists in the creation and integration of 3D assets, textures, shaders, and materials within Unreal Engine.

      • Develop and implement shaders, materials, and VFX (visual effects) that meet visual and technical requirements.

      • Ensure assets are properly configured for Unreal Engine, adhering to technical limitations and best practices.

      • Collaborate with the animation team to ensure smooth integration of rigged models and animations into Unreal Engine.

    • Performance Optimization:

      • Analyze and optimize the performance of assets, shaders, and scenes within Unreal Engine.

      • Identify areas where art assets or workflows may negatively impact game performance and provide solutions.

      • Use profiling tools to diagnose and address performance issues related to visuals and technical implementation.

    • Cross-disciplinary Collaboration:

      • Ensure that the art direction aligns with technical capabilities and constraints.

      • Communicate effectively with the art team and others team to resolve technical issues and integrate assets seamlessly.

      • Provide mentorship and guidance to junior technical artists and other members of the team.

    • Visual Quality Assurance:

      • Ensure that all art assets adhere to the project's visual standards and technical specifications.

      • Conduct regular reviews of assets in Unreal Engine to ensure quality and performance standards are maintained.

      • Research and Development:

      • Stay up to date with the latest Unreal Engine developments, tools, and techniques.

      • Explore and implement new techniques and technologies that can enhance the visual quality or efficiency of the production pipeline.

      • Experiment with new rendering techniques, material creation, and visual effects within Unreal Engine.

    • Documentation and Training:

      • Document processes, workflows, and tools for use by other team members.

      • Create tutorials or training materials to help the art team and other departments make better use of Unreal Engine's features.

      • Conduct knowledge sharing sessions or workshops to elevate the team's technical skillset.

  • Soft Skills:

    • Strong communication and collaboration skills, especially in cross-disciplinary teams.

    • Ability to mentor and provide guidance to junior artists and developers.

    • Problem-solving mindset with a focus on both technical and creative solutions.


  • Other skills that are advantageous:

    • Knowledge of cinematography/photography

    • Experience working on large-scale projects (AAA games, simulation, or virtual reality).

    • Knowledge of advanced visual effects and simulations, such as particle systems, fluid dynamics, and post-processing effects.

    • Be able to work with Blender (modelling/sculpting/texturing/rigging/animation/etc.)

    • Coding experience in Python, C++ (optional)


QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Key Competencies and Requirements:

    • Pressure Handling: Ability to work effectively under high pressure on sites or Production shoots.

    • Travel: Willingness to travel for Production shoots.

    • Adaptability and Flexibility: Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays, to accommodate diverse projects and client needs in fast-paced.

    • English Proficiency: Advanced speaking and written communication skills are required.

    • Detail Oriented: Meticulous and accurate in all tasks.

    • Industry Experience: Previous experience in VFX or gaming and on production shoot preferred.

    • AI Familiarity: Basic understanding of artificial intelligence and its applications.
